Join the Coop

Membership in Vineyard Power is open to all residents of Martha's Vineyard - both
year-round and seasonal residents.

One membership can cover an individual, a family, a business or an organization. The membership is associated with the electric ratepayer - the name on your electric bill.

Cost

The one-time joining fee is the same for all members, regardless of how much electricity they consume. Once you're a member, there will be no further fees or dues.

Until April 1, 2010, this joining fee is $50; then it will increase by $50 each quarter.

Why you should Join

As a cooperative member, your electricity will be clean and affordable. Vineyard Power will provide financial savings while reducing the island’s carbon footprint and contributing to greater sustainability.

Membership will also give you direct voice in the cooperative’s development and operations. Shareholders will steer all the organization’s major decisions – from electing a Board of Directors to choosing which locations are considered for generating renewable energy.
